Ty Eckley grew up in a family guided by his artist mother and entrepreneur father. He developed his love for the arts through a BFA degree in Sculpture and met his wife, Ginny, while taking a jewelry class from Val Link, igniting both with the fire for creating Art.

Post graduate classes led him into television production, and video editing. His sculpture fabrication experiences led him into the construction business and ultimately into real estate development.

In 1993, Ty started KCTC Inc. where he designed, financed, and built five commercial buildings to complete a mixed-use lifestyle center named Kingwood Town Center in Kingwood, Texas. While managing the property for nearly 30 years, he organized and implemented over 130 community events such as Mardi Gras Parades with live music, vendors and judging, live actor Christmas shows, and July 4th fireworks displays attended by 20,000 to 40,000 people, also with a live music stage and vendors. He also organized, designed, and managed 56 custom car shows exhibiting between 80 – 220 cars, while coordinating live music, vendors, and judging.

In 1999, Ty attended Burning Man where he designed, built, installed, and operated The Necklace Factory for 9 years. He also designed, built, installed, and operated a large variety of kinetic sculptures over past 24 years in a row. For the past 16 years Ty has built Necklace Factory Awards for over 4,000 winners. His interest in recognizing the Builders of Burning Man Art has grown into an even more esteemed Award titled the Wagon Master Awards. Each Award is custom designed and created by a team of Burning Man Jewelers.

Since 1974, Ty has been deeply involved in arts related projects throughout the globe, but his main focus has been close to home. His passion to create led him to recently complete a screenplay titled The Photographer.  It is a science fiction, action-based TV Series that ranges from archeology to astrophysics. He started writing this made for TV series over 26 years ago and is now in the development and preproduction stages of fabrication.

Another journey begins for Ty Eckley…
